Big Apple's Spider-man week and radioactive 'laway'

Spider-Man Week in NYC

http://spider-manweeknyc.com/

Wow! kindly check out the upcoming events coming in NYC, and Im so excited and also inspired by their marketing gimik for the movie Spider-man 3, having a week event right on time of its movie premiere. and thanks for the big wigs for making such a big event. Here in Manila I haven't heard any big event or promotional gimik for the Spider-man 3 movie, I know that comics and toy collectors are waiting for some big release and also launchings of its toys and merchandise, and it includes me waiting for a radioactive spider party hahahaha.

The NYC spidey event slapped me with new ideas in events and marketing, they tied up with sponsors and also with them they created an activity and event for them and it relates to the movie. thats cool di ba?!

Just like my project event titled : Allspark is on its way into bigger heights and with this kind of activity it gave me great ideas on how will I bring a big number of people to a large scale event.
large scale and small scale is a term I usually use when describing events, for example an event that can accomodate thousands can be considered as a large scale event, while events that can accomodate at around hundreds or less or the venue is so small, i can call it small scale events.

why i call it? just to make label and think of their major developments soon, the small scale can turned into a large scale event after a year or the large scale event can turn into a super biggie upsize international event hahahaha I dont have yet the right term for that but Im glad that every event being organized here in Manila from comics, anime, cosplay, music and etc are very successful, it means that pinoys are very active and a party dinosaur.(not animal!)

gear it up guys! coz its already April and more ground breaking events coming to town and save a lot of moolah coz the ultimate grand daddy of convention in the Philippines is coming back this June 16-17, 2007. yup! ToyCon na sa Pinas!!

UPDATE: Kenny will provide the voice of Starscream in the upcoming animated television series not the feature film. See UPDATE below for further details!

The IESB has come upon a scoop regarding voice actor casting in the upcoming live action Transformers movie due out July 4, 2007. Tom Kenny, best known for his work as SpongeBob Squarepants but also has a huge resume of voice work behind him, has most recently been rumored to be a voice in the Fall 2007 Transformers animated series.

However, it could be much bigger than that. Kenny recently co-hosted the Valentine’s Day Lucha Vavoom wrestling event in Los Angeles. According to an IESB colleague who was in the audience that day he was announced as the voice of Squarepants, of course, but it was also announced that he would be voicing Starscream in the upcoming feature film version of Transformers directed by Michael Bay.

If you had to pick the most talented voice over actor in the business today it would be Tom Kenny. Kenny voices characters that range from SpongeBob to The Penguin in The Batman plus many, many more.

A call to his manager and publicist plus one to the studio to get confirmation on this have been put in but have had no response as of yet. Since the IESB was not physically present at this event and can’t confirm it first hand, we are trying our best to get a confirmation from one of Kenny’s reps. We will keep you updated as the story progresses.

UPDATE: The team over at Lucha Vavoom were kind enough to return our call and stated that there was an error in the announcement. Yes it was announced he would be Starscream in the feature film, but it was an error and was supposed to be announced as Starscream in the animated television series coming Fall of 2007.

UPDATE #2: Got a call back from Kenny's agent confirming yes, he has been cast in the animated Transformers series, he will be voicing Starscream amongst others, as of yet, there is not comment on whether or not he will also be cast in the live action feature film.

A bit of background on the Starscream character - Starscream's intelligence and skill assured him the postition of second-in-command of the Decepticons. His agility and speed made him the Air Commander. Despite (or more likely as a result of) possessing so many talents, he was very insolent and sought to replace Megatron as leader.

Starscream was able to transform into an F-15 jet, and was the fastest flyer, as well as a high-ranking warrior. Despite all of his abilities, he was not always looked upon very favorably by his fellow Decepticons. They followed his orders, but believed him to be quite cowardly, demanding, and an ineffective commander. Starscream, however, merely believed the others envied his superiority. The thoughts of his comrades were also shared by Megatron, who especially resented Starscream's rebelliousness and belief that he would one day be the leader. Yet Megatron appreciated having a scapegoat around on whom to blame if things went wrong, and he also had to acknowledge that despite all his faults, Starscream was valuable to the Decepticon cause.  – Transformers On-Line Encyclopedia
